Abstract

|
Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Manifestations of All Diseases(ð³Ü»ê¹ý¦Öå)was written by Chao Yuanfang that was most active during the Sui Dynasty at A.D. 610. It classified clinical medicine by some departments of internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and otorhinolaryngology and within each specific department, categorizes etiology and pathology according to characteristics of various diseases. It was the total disease classification book that based on the bibles of the Oriental medicine, (Huangdi¡¯¡¯s) Internal Classic(üÜð¨Ò®Ìè), Classic of Difficult Issues(ÑñÌè) and Treatise on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases(ß¿ùÎíÚÜ»Öå), A-B Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion(öÝ϶ˣëàÌè), Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold for Emergencies(ÝáÐáô¶ÑÑé©Û°) and Medical Secrets of an Official(èâÓæÝúé©). It was arranged tussive causes, classes, diagnosis, prognosis and stretching for treatment by Volume 13, all symptoms of tussiculation. Dialectic part was divided into cough(ú¦áõ), cough with dyspnea(ú¦æ½ß¾Ñ¨), cough with pus and blood(ú¦áõ÷ÎÒÛúì), cough with duck crying sound(?áõ), sudden cough(øìѨú¦áõ), cough with dyspnea(ú¦æ½), cough with dyspnea and vomiting(ú¦æ½ß¾Ñ¨Ï¥÷Î). Disease situation part was divided into the new cough(ãæú¦) and old cough(ÏÁú¦), deficiency syndrome(úÈñû) and excess syndrome(ãùñû), visceral cough(íúݤú¦), etc. Out of these, cough with counterflow(ú¦áõ߾Ѩ), cough with dyspnea(ú¦æ½ß¾Ñ¨), cough with dyspnea and vomiting(ú¦æ½ß¾Ñ¨Ï¥÷Î), cough with shortness of breath(ú¦æ½ÓѨ) have a close connection with dyspnea(߾Ѩ), counterflow of qi(æ½Ñ¨), dyspnea and vomiting(߾Ѩϥ÷Î) and shortness of breath(ÓѨ) in the Pathogenesis and Manifestations of All qi(Ѩܻð³ý¦) of vol 13. So two parts may be refer to each other. However, the content on the original book has been addition and subtraction on the original context along with many reprints. Therefore, this paper, with regard to the prints of former editions, tried to help in better comprehension of the original context through readings and Korean translation.
